Alex  J  Gooding

Entering Class: 2012
PhD Program: Pathology
Advisor: Bill Schiemann, PhD

Undergraduate Institution: University of Wisconsin
Hometown: Whitefish Bay, WI.

Research Interests: My prior research was in pharmacology and I am currently interested in cancer biology. Specifically, I am working on TGF-Beta's influence on breast cancer metastasis.

About me: As a passionate baseball and University of Wisconsin sports fan, I enjoy taking the summer evenings to watch the Atlanta Braves and fall afternoons to watch the Badgers play. In my free time I like to golf at any of Cleveland's fine courses as well explore the culinary options available around the city. I found Cleveland to have a great selection of restaurants while also being a great sports town regardless of the team you support.

Comment about the MSTP program: Case MSTP brings me in contact with incredible students and stimulating researchers every day. When I was looking to continue my education I wanted a place that would foster my growth and development as a student and researcher. At Case I found a place to nurture the scientist I am and mold me into the scientist I will become. Coming to Case has been a fantastic decision for me and hopefully will be for you too!
