-The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) announced that they are working towards a tobacco free undergraduate campus. They are also working on developing a mentoring/alumni program. Lastly, GSS is working on merging with the Graduate Professional Council (GPC). Zita, our GSS representative is working on ensuring that the new, merged system includes a seat for MSTP-specific representation. If you have questions or comments on this, please contact her at zmh10@case.edu

-The Committee on Medical Education (CME) is working on developing a rural health initiative, to enable rural medicine experiences for student throughout the medical school curriculum. Three new staff were recently added to the medical school curriculum administration—Assistant Dean for Basic Sciences: Amy Wilson-Delfosse, Assistant Dean for Medical Student Research: Colleen Croniger; Assistant Dean for Health Systems Science: Mamta Singh. Lastly, the new Health Campus, to be constructed on the land donated by the Cleveland Clinic, will now be a partnership between the medical, nursing, dental and social work schools. This will further delay completion of the new Campus, likely into 2017. Contact Gloria with any questions regarding medical school curriculum at gloriatavera@gmail.com

-The 2014 APSA Midwest Regional Meeting is being held at Case this year, on Saturday, November 15th, in the Wolstein Research Building. The event kicks off at 8 am. Email Pam Marcott with questions and offer her lots of help pfm26@case.edu. Specifically, we need volunteers for the undergraduate lunch table session (currently Cliff, Nischay, Kevin and Christian will be present), volunteers for helping with registration in the morning (currently Nathaniel and David) and volunteers to run miscellaneous errands (currently Alex Gooding, Alex McMillan and Gloria). Please consider presenting a poster. Breakout session organizers, be sure to email Pam with a list of probing questions for your session and consider sending her a handout for your session, to be made available in the registration packet to all participants

-Summer retreat planning for 2015 was discussed, with a focus on identifying and contacting a list of potential keynote speakers and deciding on the retreat location in the coming weeks. Any questions or comments regarding the 2015 summer retreat can be sent to Brendan Barton at bmb91@case.edu.
